  • Durham Health and Human Services

    Summer 2011

    Complete demolition of an 85,000 square foot multistory government facility. The concrete, brick, and CMU were crushed onsite to 3 inch minus to use as structural backfill. The project also consisted of asbestos abatement of a 40 foot long, 10 feet high exterior wall.

  • Johnson Square Apartments

    Winston-Salem, NC
    Winter 2011

    The Johnson Square demolition project involved the demolishing of seven seperate apartment buildings located in Winston-Salem, NC. The multi story buildings totaled 34,800 sqft. Concrete pads and asphalt were left in place for future use. Total time for demolition and clean up was nine days.

  • Steel Storage Tank Demolition

    Catlettsburg, KY
    Fall 2010

    A & D Environmental and M.B.H. Enterprises were subcontractors for U.S. Waste Industries in Catlettsburg, KY.  The job was to remove hazardous material and asbestos from a 300,000 pound steel storage tank that was then to be demolished.

    M.B.H. was given a successful one week deadline to break down and demolish the steel tank and prepare the area to receive a new storage tank.

  • Former Fergeson School

    Winston-Salem, NC
    Fall 2010

    With a two month dead line, M.B.H. and AbateMaster were to perform full abatement and demolition of a 60,000 square foot, multi-story school building.  The clean concrete and brick were crushed on site then transported off site to be used as road base. Wood beams found in the school were mulched up and sold for use as landscaping material.  Upon completion, the site was graded and prepped for new grass growth to eventually be used as a soccer field.

  • Latham Elementary School

    Winston-Salem, NC
    Summer 2010

    This was a select demolition project for the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System.  A wing, approximately 13,000 square feet, including the cafeteria, kitchen, gymnasium, and glass office were to be separated from the existing building to remain and then completely demolished. In addition, following demolition a 20,000 gallon underground storage tank was removed. Prior to demolition asbestos abatement was performed in the areas to be demolished.

  • Bassett Furniture Warehouse

    Bassett, VA
    Fall 2009

    Demolition of a three story 85,000 square foot abandoned textile plant.  Following demolition, all of the concrete was processed and crushed on site and used as a structural fill.

  • DIGGS Latham Elementary School

    Winston-Salem, NC
    Summer 2009

    Before a new wing could be added to the school, an existing building had to be treated for asbestos and demolished.

  • Iberham Elementary School

    Winston-Salem, NC
    Summer 2009

    Iberham Elementary called for demolition and abatement.  The school was a 44,000 square foot building with multiple stories, a brick veneer exterior, CMU interior walls, and a foundation which consisted of reinforced concrete walls.

    Following demolition, the concrete was crushed, on site to 3” minus and used as a structural fill, compacted to 98 percent.

  • Union Hill Elementary School

    High Point, NC
    Spring 2008

    Complete demolition of an existing 60,000 square foot school. The project scope included pumping and removing two 8,000 gallon underground storage tanks, in addition to rough grading of the site in preparation of the new school building.
